Writing Has Become Typing with Consequences

We all call ourselves “writers,” yet most of us spend our time “typing.” I see typing as writing with consequences, that is, physical issues that come from prolonged writing.

Common issues I face:

Wrist Pain: Painful beyond expectation.
Eye Dryness: Your tears won’t be helpful.
Back Pain: Not from responsibilities.
Dehydration

Here’s what how I manage them:

Adjust Your Seating: If you’re not feeling wrist pain, you’re probably doing it right.

Follow the 20-20-20 Rule: Every 20 minutes, look at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds.

Use an Ergonomic Chair: If you can’t, raise your seat height and use back support.

Stay Hydrated: Keep a water bottle within reach and drink regularly.

Apart from these, I take the stairs instead of elevators and walk frequently for both physical and mental relief.

For proper posture management, I recommend consulting with an expert.

Writers, take care of your health!
